Dear Friends of Kuya,   Merry Christmas

Thank you for your support over the past year(s). Kuya continues to grow and do well under the new leadership of Sr Kate O'Neill a long time staff member. Kuya continues to work with children on the street and endeavor to find their families and return them home usually with a short term stay at Kuya while their circumstances are sorted out. Families are then supported and empowered to find work or create jobs through our micro loans program. It is poverty and a lack family skills that are at the root of the reason why kids are on the streets.

Currently I have been working in job start activities and there are several in need of help two in particular. One whose apartment was closed by authorities as it was not registered and so finds himself without a place to stay. He is desperate as I write this and then there is a second one in a similar situation too. Their plight reminds me that this is like a modern life 'Stable Story'.

If you wish to help directly and immediately a cheque made out to Paul Murphy and sent to 25 Carlow Street North Sydney NSW 2060 would be most appreciated or a direct deposit into St George Bank Paul Murphy   BSB 112-879    A/C 484-303-293. Any help at all would mean the chance of roof over the heads of these two people who both have good jobs but are victims of circumstances.

My Good wishes and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and every grace and blessing for the coming New Year

Paul

Thank you so much for the OBU contribution. One young lad had his apartment burn down due to an exploding gas bottle next door. His work mate was burnt to death and my friend escaped as he was eating down the road but he lost his work computer n work uniforms n other things including the apartment deposits as the landlady was with the police in lock up and money gone! Omg!! The event made the national newspapers!

It is hard to be poor. I am still looking for a few hundred more to help him with a new rental. I was able to get new uniforms and the bank went 40/60 on new computer.... but still a huge struggle.

So your help is much appreciated thank you. I would appreciate anyone else who can help ... So hard and traumatic
