The other day my research into Ancient India was brushed aside as "Ancient History" I also learnt of a phrase called "Historical Amnesia" like we Hindus have to forget 900 years of Moslem/Mongol Rule, the slaughter of some 60 million Hindus, the destruction of our sacred temples, usurpation of forts and palaces and rendering so many to Tombs .. what the British "inherited" was a Graveyard and as Waldemaar Hansen wrote in his book " Peacock Throne" the most enduring symbol of what they left is a Tomb.. called Crown Palace.. Taj Mahal .. but the British as my Guru Jee Purushottam Nagesh Oak expounded adopted the lies of the Mughal /Moslem writers because they denigrated the original inhabitants of India.. After all Imperialism was touted as a beneficial introduction in the lives of a conquered or subjugated people.. Greek, Rome and British expounded that theory so how could the British admit it was the accursed Hindus.. a beastly people with a beastly religion.. who built the Taj Mahal and the Red Forts..

And Boy Oh Boy we were mocked left right and centre.. unrelenting criticism As Britain's Star wanes Islam rises and any criticism of Islaam is seen as Islamophobia .. which David Millband promised would go on the Statute Books as a crime..Remember the debacle the World faced with the fatwa on Salman Rushdie . there he was a hunted man with every man and woman and child true to Islam baying for his blood.. a young couple came on BBC and the Sweet Young Wife .. seemingly so pure and beautiful .. tells the interviewer I would be so proud if my husband kills Salman Rushdie .. And Paul Theroux visits Ra in Fiji and thinks this would be an ideal place for Sir Salman Rushdie ( as he now is, and as he was not then) to hide so he chances on a Moslem guy and asked Do you know Salman Rushdie ? And bang came the reply Him very bad man..

So today Germany help will not help her British cousins .. and Angela Merkel is resolute that Britain will get no quarter.. And France has forgotten the painful memories of two World Wars .. not one but two and the Brutal Nazi Occupation of France .. so Macron is politically nuzzling that Golden Girl of Germany Angela Merkel ..and what of Russia ..Germany invaded Russia in WW2 which may be termed the Madness of Adolph Hitler .. or Japan attacking USA .. the Madness of Emperor Hirohito so how do they all feel.. Britain Great Britain crushed under the Heels of EEC , Britain a power that has lost the plot.. and above all USA living in splendid isolation but now threatened by Little North Korea..

but let me bring you Gentle Reader to my Native Fiji.. sometime ago Dr Brij Lal launched his book on Jai Ram Reddy in Auckland and I asked a colleague whether he had attended that function.. and he replied Who cares ? That is ancient history and no longer relevant..

Well Jai Ram was a tower of strength fir the Indians during the coup of 1987 .. he alone bore a large part of the brunt on us Indians.. well he tried to heal the divisions by accepting Sitiveni Rabuka..

Well today a failed leader Mahendra Pal Chaudhry is attempting to ride piggy back on Sitiveni Rabuka's shoulders..to revive his career as one time political leader who became Fiji's first Indian to become its Prime Minister.. Of course Rabuka the man with a thousand apologies has received a new lease of life under SODELPA..

so there Brij's tome on Jai Ram regains a relevance ... Finally I end on my own attempts to revive India's glorious past and history..When I went to the Ardh Kumbh Mela in 1971 my Swami Krishnanandji explained that Prayag the ancient name for what is now Allahabad was the sacred Hindu City and represented confluence of three rivers Jamuna, Ganges .. both of were visible but Swamiji went on to describe the third river as the unseen Saraswati.. I was mystified but I held my peace.. Today Lo and Behold River Saraswati is seen on aerial maps ..that it once existed..that it went underground .. it was a living entity..

And Lord Krishna's city of Dwarika has been discovered at the Gulf of Khambatta .. so much is being discovered or if once discovered is beamed into our lives via internet and by endless seekers of the truth..

So in English it is His-story but in Hindi it is Itihaas .. sounds so much like As it was .. which is precisely what it means.. it is not a story it is what it was or as it was ..
